Burlens Architecture & Planning were instructed to undertake technical details and working drawings for this bespoke single dwelling located within the Surrey Hill Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. . The main details included long metal strip roofing system over curved roofs, vertical cedar cladding, a combination of slate clad with monocouche render, first floor steel access bridge and large retaining walls creating varying level platforms. . The kitchen of a recent self-build project, based just outside of Ashford, Kent. It’s always great to see a project finished! . . For this self-build, the kitchen was designed to be the hub of the house with a large central island measuring 1.5m X 2.8m acting as a main focal point. A white marble design Quartz worktop was installed to give a clean and modern finish with contrasting carbon coloured units below. . To avoid large uninteresting ceiling areas, a dropped ceiling was constructed to mimic the Quartz island below. The installation of ceiling speakers, LED and pendant lighting combined, makes the perfect entertaining environment. . .
